I've never felt this way

My best friend just called me. I've been texting her for two weeks and she's ignored me. I find it out its cause she's been 'thinking' and finally decided we should part ways. She reckons the last few times we've hung out she felt uncomfortable - I sensed nothing. She gets told I've been bitching about her for the last 1.5 years - I only bitched about her boyfriend cause I and everyone else knows he's a cheating, lying bastard! Then she reckons maybe she's just changed, and I'm thinking 'hell yeah its all you!' I was shattered, but I'm getting over that part. Now I'm bitter, and I'm feeling very vindictive and angry.. I want her boyfriend to screw her over, just so she knows I was right the entire time. It's made me feel very vulnerable and scared of losing my other best friend, even though we're on great terms atm. I'm a little paranoid, and I don't wanna feel that way cause I know where I'm at with my other friends. I'm seeing a few of them on Friday night so I'm just gonna get drunk and forget about that bitch XD I'd rather we parted after a screaming match, cause then it might not hurt so bad..

Lol I'm not usually this emo. I'm a generally happy person, so this is probably the only time I'd rant this way. And I've never felt so needing of revenge before. I've always been like that, wanting bad things for people who have done bad things to me, but she's really fucked me over this time. DX I'm just not used to the hurt of losing a friend. I've lost 2 friends I've cared deeply for in the last 2-3 years, and I don't wanna lose anymore.

Also, maybe if she'd made an effort to see me like I did, she wouldn't feel like we have nothing in common!
My puppy!!

He's a Shitzu x Maltese Terrier... and he's so short and fluffy. When I got him he was the runt of his litter but now he's all big and strong and tries to push around the oldest dog we have XD

Here's my baby Murphy!

I love my baby to bits!
Computer crashed. Again. No words for it. I unplugged the thing (rather harshly) and drove it down to the computer guy close by. Basically every time it rebooted I installed Windows again, and I forgot to delete the old one so I've got three Windows installations on there and all three had the same problem cause I never deleted the problem the first time. Anyway he thinks my RAM might be faulty.. here's hoping. I want my baby back.. I have assignments goddammit!

On a brighter note, I don't think I told anybody I got a puppy last April... and he's a poser for the camera XD He'll be a year old on February 12.. I'm gonna post some pics later :)

Oh no it didn't.

Guess what happened? Oh no, go ahead and guess, I'll wait..
Hint: If I had a hammer, my comptuter would be dead for good, and I'd be smiling.

IT CRASHED AGAIN! I have no idea wtf is happening... I was halfway through my assignment. Now it's gone.. again. And the stupid thing was seconds prior to the incident it was on my damn USB stick. It wouldn't open from the USB stick so I deleted it and opened the folder it was in to copy into onto there again. But then the computer said it needed to complete an update by restarting, so ignorant me forgot about the document. You can probably imagine how far my jaw dropped when I saw the message 'reboot required' (or something along those lines) on my screen. I'm not gonna bother rebooting for now, it can stay like that till I'm ready to waste another hour putting EVERYTHING back into the fucker (excuse my language, but I'm clearly frustrated).

On another note, I don't think I've ever posted as frequently.. two posts in one day - I just had to rant.

And I actually feel bad for being angry at my computer... I'm on my sister's for now, but once I've finished my assignment and emailed it off I'm gonna run right back to my own computer to reboot it.. and maybe apologise XD

My worst nightmare.

My stupid piece of shit computer crashed.. well it's not shit but it DID crash. I lost EVERYTHING - my music, pictures, videos, documents. The worst part was I lost an assignment that's due tomorrow, and all my research for 3 other assignments due soon. Thankfully I kept all my back-up discs so obviously it's up and running now (or else I wouldn't be posting).. and thank god I wrote my assignment before typing it up. This is a lesson that I should maybe keep my work on a USB from now on.. Now I have to type my assignment all over again, and I really am not looking forward to it (it doesn't seem like much effort, but I REALLY hate repeating things and redoing things, it makes me go psycho).

Backsies!

Just a really really short post to let everyone know I'm back from holidays! Lol New Years Eve on the beach was so up-and-down for me. Had shots, ran down the beach with my sister and some other people, counted down the new year, watched the fireworks at Surfers from a pretty good vantage point... but 2010 did not start well lol. So much shit happened, pretty personal (not for me, for people I know) so I will not go into it. But let me sum it up: violence, abuse, swearing, tears, runaways... Lol hope everyone else had a good Christmas and a good New Year :)

While I'm thinking of it, just thought I'd wish everyone on my f-list a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! XD Hope you all enjoy the holidays.. I know I will XD I'm off to the Gold Coast for a week! So looking forward to it. I'm heading off on Boxing Day, so I won't be online for about a week. But I'm right on the beach, and in the middle of everything, so I'm gonna be plenty distracted. Happy holidays everyone! XD

Piano Sheets

Does anyone know where I would be able to find Ayumi Hamasaki's 'Memorial Address' piano score? I have looked everywhere, but no luck :( I tried playing by watching videos of people playing the music on piano, but it's not as useful as the actual sheet music would be. By some miracle, does anyone here know where I could get it, or perhaps point me in the right direction?

Much appreciated guys! :)

Best birthday present ever!!

Last night, I went to see my favourite band: GREEN DAY! It was a day after my birthday, but the tickets were a gift from my parents. I went with my sister and three friends, and omg they were so awesome live!! I have to admit their newest album '21st Century Breakdown' wasn't as impressive as their last one, but they played the songs from it I really enjoyed... 21st Century Breakdown, 21 Guns, Know Your Enemy, and American Eulogy (I think..). But when they broke into American Idiot and their old stuff, I started screaming so loud. All I can say is they sounded so good live, especially Billie Joe. His voice is amazing! My favourite Green Day songs would be Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Hitchin' a Ride so I was mega happy when they played those! They ended up 2 encores cause we couldn't stop screaming.. and they covered 'Highway to Hell' by ACDC quite nicely XD All in all it was a good night, I'm just disappointed I wasn't patient enough to stand in the merchandise line and buy something. It was my first concert, and 19 years on, I think it was well worth the wait! Can't wait till they come back to Australia again!

Formal madness!!

Today is the day of my sister's formal... and it's stressing everyone out! By everyone I mean myself, my mum, and my sister. Now my entire family are impatient, have bad tempers, and get cranky under stress quite easily. I just got my P's, so I've been running people and myself around all day going to hair and nail appointments, and just got back from my sister's hair appointment. Her hair looks pretty good, but different from her Saturday hair trial. And she's pissed. Like, she's on the warpath. Our good friend Jjai is here (he's going to the formal as well, he even bought her a corsage cause she had no date) and it must be so awkward for him, with 3 women all arguing with each other and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We've been snapping at each other over makeup, her hair, outfits. She's gotta go get her makeup done in half an hour, god help the woman who takes on that job. So now I have to set up my makeup so I can get it done quicker... so frustrated! And it's so damn hard to type with French tips DX I'm getting used to it but typing this much so quickly is making them feel funny.

Gazette's new single

Wow!! I'm liking the gazettes new single! Before I Decay was ok. It's not my favourite, but I could listen to it without it getting old. But the second song is so awesome! It's so catchy, and I pretty much prefer it.

Anyway, back to my assignment which is due tomorrow! I've gone over the word limit by 1000 words and have no idea how to cut it down DX But other than that, I'm actually rather pleased with it. I've never felt more confident about an assignment. Except hopefully I won't lose too many marks for going over the word count..

I'm bored.

Woot!

Downside: the lines at the bus stop to get home were soooooo long... it's surprisingly hot when you're all packed in like that.. :(

Still, it was worth it.
Like A Lily - Prologue

I don't know how this'll go, but we'll see. Here's the prologue of my new fic, Like A Lily.

“Emi!” Yuri screamed, running towards the burning building that held her siblings captive. Soldiers on horseback were rampaging through their tiny village, spearing civilians and guards alike. Yuri had managed to find a place to hide, until the enemy soldiers had set the village on fire. Now she had to rescue her siblings from the fire. She had no idea where her parents were, but they were missing.

“Emi! Are you in there?!” Yuri cried out again, trying to peer through a window. Suddenly, a beam crashed to the ground in front of her, and she fell backwards in fright. She could hear a loud sobbing over the roar of the fire, and she knew someone was alive in there.

“Kimiko?” Yuri mumbled, trying to recognise whose voice she could hear. Her little sister was definitely the one making all the noise in there. Please don’t let that mean she’s the only one alive...

“Yuri!” came the voice of her older brother, Eri. She glanced to her right and saw him stumbling around the corner before collapsing to his knees in front of her.

“Eri!” she exclaimed, reaching over and pulling him into a tight hug. “Where are the others?”

“I... I don’t know,” he stammered. “I’ve been on the other side of the hut, trying to get a look inside, but it’s too smoky.”

“I can hear Kimiko crying in there, so there might still be survivors,” Yuri said hopefully. “We need to get in there, but the entry’s blocked off and we’ll be burned alive.”

Eri grabbed the wooden beam that had fallen, and began to shove it against the slab of wood that covered the window. “The wood should have weakened, so hopefully it’ll open for us!”

Sure enough, the beam broke through and smoke began pouring out of the window and into the night air.

“Stay here!” Eri demanded, hoisting himself up and scurrying through the window. Yuri nodded, but shielded her eyes from the heat, edging closer to the window to hear what was going on.

“Kimiko, you’re okay,” she heard Eri say, and breathed her first sigh of relief.

Yuri took her hand from her eyes just as Eri started to push Kimiko through the window. “Take her, Yuri. Take her far away.”

“What about Emi? And Naruhito?” she asked fearfully.

“Just go!” he yelled, and disappeared into the smoke.

Yuri took Kimiko firmly by the waist and began running for the river down a hill behind their hut. The soldiers hadn’t found them so far, and the area behind their hut had plenty of hiding places.

When she reached the river, Yuri took Kimiko behind a large rock and huddled on the ground.

“Don’t worry, Kimiko,” she soothed, stroking the child’s hair. “Eri will be back with the others soon.”

~~

An hour passed, and the cries of dying villagers faded. The smoke continued to rise, but the fires were fading, and the soldiers were slowly retreating from the now-empty village. And Eri hadn’t found them yet. Yuri hoped that he had rescued the others and brought them this way.

Yuri left a sleeping Kimiko by the boulder and crept towards the hut again. She lifted herself and peered through the window, only to gasp when she saw two badly-burned bodies draped over one another. She shoved a hand over her mouth to stop from screaming in case she drew attention. Naruhito and Emi both gazed upwards, their eyes glazed over, not blinking. Yuri stifled a sob, and was about to climb through the window when she heard a scream come from the direction of the river.

“Kimiko!” she whispered before dropping to the ground and sprinting for the river as quietly as she could. As the river came into view, Yuri stopped dead as she saw three enemy soldiers, their armour glinting in the moonlight, but their faces hidden by shadows. One was holding Kimiko by the hair, pulling harshly and laughing as she screamed repeatedly.

“Who do we have here?” the soldier asked, and they all cocked their heads slightly, their interest piqued.

“Let her go.” Yuri tried to make her voice as threatening as possible, but it only succeeded in making the soldiers laugh.

“Does this belong to you?” the soldier holding Kimiko asked, giving her hair another swift tug. Kimiko whimpered, wiping the tears from her eyes with balled fists.

“She’s not a dog,” Yuri snarled. “She’s my sister. Give her to me.”

“We have orders to take her to the palace.”

Everyone turned to look curiously at the soldier who had spoken. He looked around at them all and bowed his head, shadowing his face even further.

“She’s the prettiest woman I’ve seen in this village,” he added, and everyone slowly nodded their agreement. Suddenly, their eyes displayed realisation, as if they’d only just remembered something.

“That’s right,” the soldier holding Kimiko piped up. “The Emperor wants all the pretty women we find at the palace by dawn.”

“We should take her with us. She’s the only one we left alive,” the tall soldier explained. They all nodded again, but straightened up, on alert as Yuri made a sudden movement. Except she wasn’t on the attack, she had dropped to the ground.

“You killed... everyone?” she asked disbelievingly, though the tears in her eyes betrayed the idea that she didn’t believe it.

“We were told only to keep the pretty ones alive.”

Yuri didn’t look for the person who answered her question. She felt hands on either side of her arms and began to struggle, but a swift kick to the back stilled her. She yelped and went limp in their arms.

“Please, spare my sister. Let her come with me,” Yuri pleaded softly.

“I suppose,” the tall soldier granted, and then yelled out that they were departing. They all retreated to the area where their horses were tied and waiting. The tall soldier summoned the men holding Yuri to his side, and pulled her onto his horse in front of him.

“Kimiko!” Yuri screamed, holding out her arms for her younger sister.

“She’ll ride behind us,” the tall soldier explained. “Be still, or I’ll tie you by the neck and make you walk all the way to the Imperial Palace.”

The tall soldier glanced behind him, and gave a furtive nod of the head before roaring out another command. The horses all began moving in unison, following the river downstream, and towards the exit of the village.

As they reached the gates, the man holding Kimiko swiftly landed a blow on her neck, causing her to let out a strangled cry and fall unconscious. Suddenly, he let her slip from the horse.

Over the sound of the army of horses, Yuri didn’t hear her sister fall, and was too shell-shocked to turn around and check on her. She was thinking about the disappearance of Eri. Where had he gone? Why had he run off?

Yuri couldn’t understand it. Emi was his twin sister; they had been closer than anybody else could have been. He couldn’t have just left her there to die. He’d saved Kimiko, why couldn’t he save the others?

Yuri refused to let her confusion turn to hatred. She would never, ever turn her back on a sibling. She wasn’t entirely sure that that’s what Eri had done.

“Please, let me find you again,” she whispered to herself, clasping her hands together in prayer. “So you can explain what you did.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Diary - Epilogue

Here we go, final chapter of The Diary XD Please enjoy, I hope it's been a pleasurable reading experience for anyone who read this!

As the news vans and emergency services arrived on the scene, five bodies were wheeled on stretchers out of the house. Four boys, one girl: only one survivor.

Yuya came running forward until she reached the tape they’d placed around the perimeter of the house. She gasped as she saw one of the boys being covered with a sheet.

“Sachi...” she whispered, her lip quivering. So they hadn’t done anything with him. They just left him in there to suffer and die.

Akihito stood near the tape, watching the smallest body come towards them. This one wasn’t covered from head to toe with a sheet. A pale, shaking face looked up towards them.

“Daddy...” she whimpered, coughing hoarsely.

Akihito breathed a deep sigh of relief, and ducked under the tape to throw himself lightly over his daughter. He stroked her hair and rained kissed down on her cheeks and forehead.

“My baby... I’ve finally found you.”

She tried to raise her arm, but the paramedic forced it back down gently. “You need to rest. Don’t try and exert yourself.”

Akihito watched as Kiyoko was placed in an ambulance. He glanced behind him to see his family rushing in her direction. Mayumi was crying and sobbing loudly as she jumped into the ambulance and took her daughter’s hands in her own. Her siblings followed suit, and the doors closed.

Akihito desperately wanted to go with her, but he wanted to find out everything that had happened here, first. He gazed down at Yuya and saw her face turning white, tears frozen in her eyes. Her lips were trembling still. Eichi’s body was wheeled past her, and she could only stare down at his lifeless eyes before they were quickly covered over and put into another ambulance.

“I’m sorry for your loss,” Akihito muttered, though he knew he truly wasn’t sorry for Eichi’s death. He knew that Yuya had had a relationship with this boy, as crazy as that seemed to him.

“I’m not mourning for him,” she whispered back, and headed towards the ambulance which occupied Sachi’s body.

Hitoshi and Junzo came towards Akihito, carrying a worn, leather book. Hitoshi was placing it in a plastic, zip-lock bag.

“What’s that?” Akihito asked.

“It contains the rest of the diary entries that Kiyoko wrote while she was down in the basement,” Hitoshi explained. “But I can’t let you read it. Some of it... it’s horrific.”

Akihito nodded in understanding, and let them both pass. As they walked away, Akihito called out and ran to catch up to them.

“Was my daughter hurt when you found her?”

Hitoshi glanced at Junzo quickly before nodding solemnly. “I’m afraid so. She’d been shot in both legs, her left arm, and her torso.”

Akihito nearly passed out, but he fought the urge to collapse. “When I heard her scream, I thought... I thought we were too late.”

“We thought so too,” Hitoshi admitted. “But luckily, we were able to take Eichi down and Kiyoko is expected to survive her wounds.”

Akihito sighed deeply, relief sweeping over him. “Thank you both for all of your help.”

Both detectives bowed their heads in reply and walked away.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“He’s only died recently,” the coroner explained to Hitoshi and Junzo. The coroner was referring to Sachi’s body, and Yuya gasped. If they’d been earlier, maybe they could have saved him.

Hitoshi’s attention turned on Yuya, and he gave her an apologetic look. “Were you close to this boy?”

“He was the kindest boy I’d ever met,” Yuya replied quietly, fresh tears spilling down her face. “He gave Kiyoko hope... and he gave me hope too.”

“It’s sad to think that boys like him could get involved in such messes,” the coroner mumbled. She climbed into the back of the ambulance and closed the doors behind her.

Yuya gazed up at Hitoshi, her eyes filled with uncertainty. She was the only survivor of this: would it all fall on her shoulders?

Junzo whispered something in Hitoshi’s ear and he nodded.

“Detective Ishibashi will take you home, Miss Nakasawa,” Hitoshi explained. “We won’t be calling on you anytime soon.”

Yuya nodded thankfully at him, and bowed her head. “Thank you so much, detectives.”

“Thank you for helping us save that girl’s life,” Junzo replied, and motioned for her to follow him to his car.

Yuya looked back at the scene before she got into the car. She won’t forget what happened there... I am truly sorry for the pain I caused you, Kiyoko. It hurts so much I want to die.

Her thoughts turned to Sachi, and she couldn’t help but cry again. Please don’t forget the sacrifice he made for you... but I have faith that you won’t.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiyoko lay in her hospital room, staring out the window. It had been three days, and she hadn’t stopped crying while she was awake, and having nightmares when she slept. One day, her mother had promised, she’ll be able to move on and lead the normal life she deserved.

But Kiyoko hadn’t been crying for herself, she’d been crying for Yuya, and for Sachi. She hadn’t seen them since she’d escaped. She’d offered Yuya a weak smile, and Yuya had stroked her hand, flashing a courageous smile right back at her. And as she’d been lifted into an ambulance, she’d seen Sachi’s body being wheeled away.

Maybe when we’re both better, we’ll see each other again. We can visit each other, and remain close. But we’ll forget how we came to meet. That would just bring too much pain to us both.

Kiyoko thought he was fine. She thought that one day he’d walk through that door. And he’d kiss her, hold her, and make her forget.

She prayed that she wasn’t wrong. She vowed to wait for the day they’d meet again. She hoped it was soon.

She didn’t expect her hope would have to last forever.

The End.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I may write some other stuff in the future, I've started something, but I don't know whether or not I'll be able to get the feel of it. We'll see. Thanks for reading! XD

The Diary - Epilogue

Ok, Epilogue done! I think I cried a little while writing this... but then again, I was listening to sad music to get in the mood. Anyway, hope it's an alright ending, and I hope my little story was enjoyed XD Here we go!

As the news vans and emergency services arrived on the scene, five bodies were wheeled on stretchers out of the house.

The End.

The Diary - Chapter 13

Ok, final chapter! There's an epilogue to come, but I hope you enjoy this in the meantime. Kind of, maybe, full of drama.

“That slut!” Eichi screamed, punching a hole in the wall of the living room. Heiji and Naoya stayed silent, their eyes narrowed. Eichi breathed deeply and turned to Heiji. “You checked her house?”

“Yeah, her parents say she went on a school trip,” he replied, shaking his head as if knowing it wasn’t the truth.

“They’re protecting her. The police are protecting her,” Eichi murmured, his eyes growing wide, a maddening glint in them.

Naoya shrunk back. “Eichi, man, we’ve pushed this thing too far. I told you this would...”

Suddenly, an explosion filled the room and Heiji hit the floor. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Naoya fall as well, but his eyes widened when he saw the blood spilling from his head. His eyes darted up towards Eichi, who was still standing, a gun pointed at the spot where Naoya had been standing.

“Eichi, are you fucking crazy?!” Heiji exclaimed, jumping to his feet.

Eichi silently turned to face Heiji, the gun now pointed at him. Heiji’s hands flew up in the air. “What the fuck has gotten into you?” he stuttered. “Don’t be stupid, don’t panic. We can figure this out.”

The gun went off again, and Heiji fell to the floor. His eyes were lifeless. Not many people survive a shot to the head.

“All gone,” Eichi mumbled. “Sachi, Heiji, Naoya, Yuya...” his words trailed off as his eyes fell to the floor, glazing over as if he was seeing right through the floor.

“One to go.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Can’t this thing go any faster?!” Akihito roared as Hitoshi tried to weave the car between the traffic, the siren piercing the otherwise calm night air.

“Take a left down here,” Yuya directed, a hint of panic rising in her voice. “She was in the back with Akihito, and Junzo was riding up front with Hitoshi. As Hitoshi followed her directions, Junzo was busy trying to call for backup.

“You said there would definitely be three boys at the house?” Hitoshi asked as he swerved around a corner, almost causing another accident. He’d done that three times since they’d left the precinct.

“Yes. I have a bad feeling that one of the boys is dead,” Yuya replied sombrely.

“Which one?” Junzo asked, hanging up his phone and turning his head to look at her.

“Eichi’s younger brother, Sachi,” she explained. “He tried to help Kiyoko escape, and then Eichi and Heiji began to beat him. I never saw him again.”

“His own brother,” Akihito muttered disdainfully under his breath. “What a monster.”

“This right turn coming up,” Yuya directed, anxiety growing in her voice. “We’ll be there very soon.”

“Hold on, baby,” Akihito whispered to himself.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eichi slowly descended the stairs towards the basement. He could hear faint sobbing coming from the inside, making him smile as he took the key from his pocket and turned it in the lock. The door opened, and this time he didn’t bother to lock it. She would have no chance of escape this time.

“Your time’s run out, pretty thing,” Eichi whispered into the darkness. He could hear the sobbing stop, but her breathing was raspy and shaky. She was in the far left corner of the room. He pointed his gun in that direction.

“Not going to bother speaking?” he taunted. “Come here.”

Silence.

“I said come here, pretty thing.”

Still nothing.

Eichi let out a roar of frustration and pulled the trigger. A bullet ripped through the wall near the boarded up window on the opposite side of the room. He could hear a squeal ring out from near the impact.

“If you still won’t obey me, I’ll just have to come to you. But you won’t like it that way, pretty thing. I’m not quite finished with you.”

Suddenly, he saw a dark, tiny frame moving towards him. She was tripping over her own feet, she was that afraid. When she was within his range, he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her closer to him. His lips crushed down on hers, and he was ready to defend himself if she struggled. But she didn’t resist. She just gazed up at him with lifeless eyes.

“You’re no fun when you don’t struggle,” Eichi spat angrily. “You look dead already. Have I finally broken you?”

Kiyoko shook her head, but continued not to struggle as he grabbed at her behind and planted another vicious kiss on her mouth.

“No matter, I’ll still have my fun,” he said to himself. As he leant his head down to kiss her neck, the gun went off and Kiyoko screamed. She fell to the floor, sobbing ferociously and grabbing at her bleeding leg.

“I will shoot your arms, your legs, your stomach, and then maybe that pretty head of yours. We’ll see how long you last, pretty thing.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“There!” Yuya cried, pointing towards a run-down house at the far end of an empty road.

“No one would have heard her screaming, and there would have been hardly any chance of witnesses,” Junzo whispered. “They were clever.”

Hitoshi, who had turned his siren off earlier to avoid any panic from inside the house, slowed to a stop and everyone jumped out of the car.

“Mr Hisamatsu, please stay here with Ms Nakasawa,” Hitoshi ordered, and both he and Junzo drew their guns. “As soon as we signal that the coast is clear, you may enter.”

“You better not be lying,” Akihito growled at Yuya, but she merely shook her head.

“I hated myself for not coming to the police sooner. I’m not lying... this was the hardest thing to do. I could be killed for this.”

Hitoshi and Junzo made their way up to the front door. Hitoshi pressed his ear to the wall, hearing silence from inside.

Suddenly, they heard a gunshot coming from below, and the scream of a girl.

“Kiyoko!” Akihito cried out, running for the door. Hitoshi grabbed him by the waist and forced him back down the front stairs.

“Mr Hisamatsu! Stay there!” Hitoshi yelled. He and Junzo didn’t hesitate in throwing open the door and running in. The sight of two dead bodies greeted them, and Hitoshi noticed Junzo’s legs looking as if they were about to buckle.

“It’s your first real crime scene, isn’t it, Ishibashi?”

“Yes, sir.”

“No time to act like that now,” Hitoshi explained, pointing his gun into the kitchen before stepping in. They crept through the kitchen and stuck to opposite sides of the wall. They heard another gunshot and ducked, keeping their guns at the ready. The piercing scream of a girl reached them.

Hitoshi cautiously poked his head around the corner, and he caught side of stairs and an open door.

“The basement,” he mouthed to Junzo, who seemed to understand. They took deep breaths before making their way down. They saw two figures struggling at the far end of the room.

“Drop the gun, Mr Kuramoto!” Hitoshi cried, pointing his gun into the room. “You’re surrounded, and we won’t hesitate to shoot you if you don’t drop your gun!”

Suddenly, Eichi dropped Kiyoko, and began laughing. The strangeness of the way he was cackling chilled both detectives.

“Mr Kuramoto!” Junzo prompted. “Drop your weapon or we’ll be forced to shoot!”

Eichi laughed louder, before aiming the gun and pulling the trigger one final time.

The ear-splitting sound of a gunshot filled the room, as did the final scream that Kiyoko uttered. It was like the sound of a wounded animal. A sound that neither detective would ever forget.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside the house, Akihito heard the whole commotion. The gunshot, his daughter’s scream, and then silence. He had never cried before, but he wasn’t surprised when he felt tears stinging his eyes as they broke free.

He dropped to his knees and let out a pained cry.

Yuya did the same.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know where I can find the mp3 download for X Japan - Tears? Except not the normal version, the one with the really dragged-out ending. It's really pretty, I heard it at the end of their Last Live Concert, but I can't seem to find it anywhere :(
Any help would be appreciated :)

The Diary - Chapter 12

This chapter is kinda different, in the fact that there's a lot more scenes, but they're kinda short and there's different POV's all over the place! Kinda figured it's near the end though. Kinda sad, kinda not... here's chapter 12! :)

Earlier...

“Kiyoko, you have to be quiet,” Sachi pleaded, putting his hands on her mouth. Kiyoko tried her hardest to stifle her sobs, but the tears wouldn’t stop spilling.

“I promise you, this is the last Heiji will hurt you like that,” Sachi whispered, lifting her to her feet. “I’m getting you out of here today.”

“Where’s Yuya?” Kiyoko asked, hiccupping.

“She’s standing guard outside the door. She’ll knock if anyone’s coming. But no one’s here yet, so we have a pretty good chance of getting you out of here now.”

“Eichi! Stop it!” came Yuya’s panicked voice. They heard a heavy thump against the door, and the sound of shuffling on the concrete outside.

“Move!” Heiji yelled. Kiyoko widened her eyes, and Sachi motioned for her to stand behind him. The door burst open, and Heiji and Eichi stood there, panting heavily, taking on combative stances.

“We didn’t trust either of you for a second,” Eichi whispered viciously, eyeing Kiyoko. “You’ve poisoned my brother, you whore.”

“Shut it, Eichi!” Sachi spat, clenching his hands into fists and spreading his feet further apart to cover more of Kiyoko.

“What were you planning on doing exactly? Trying to save her?” Heiji taunted, smiling slyly.

Sachi didn’t reply, and Eichi’s teasing smile rapidly changed to a look of rage. “You’d turn on your own brother like this, boy?”

Heiji approached Sachi, and one hand reached behind him to stroke Kiyoko’s. Heiji caught his movement, and burst out laughing. “You have got to be kidding me. Eichi, your brother’s in love with this girl!” He slapped his knee, laughing so hard he was almost in tears.

“You got guts, boy,” Eichi snarled, catching up to Heiji. “I’m so proud.”

Suddenly, the both of them lunged at Sachi together, and took him down before he could lift his fists. Kiyoko was knocked into the wall behind her, but she fought the urge to drop to her knees. She stayed standing, and grabbed Sachi’s shirt.

“Let him go!” she screamed as Heiji one side of his body and Eichi punched his face repeatedly. Heiji used one arm to throw Kiyoko back into the wall.

“Write this in your diary, bitch!” Heiji yelled as he and Eichi dragged Sachi from the room, bloody and unconscious.

“Let him go, you animals!” Kiyoko screamed back, throwing herself into the door they had just locked behind them.

“Let me out! You cowards!”

“Shut the fuck up or we’ll come back and finish you off!”

“I don’t care anymore! I don’t care! I DON’T CARE!”

Suddenly, Kiyoko heard Yuya’s small voice. “Kiyoko, stop screaming. I promise, they won’t hurt him.”

Kiyoko slid down the door, tears streaming down her face.

“Yuya, please come in here... please.”

“I can’t.”

And that was the last thing Kiyoko heard before she slipped into unconsciousness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“How the fuck did we lose him?” Hitoshi cursed as they drove around yet another corner. It was 6pm and they’d spent the last half an hour searching for the suspect they’d lost in a crowd.

“You’re meant to be detectives, dammit,” Akihito raged. “Find the bastards!”

“We’ll keep looking, but the more time it takes, the less likely it’ll be that we find him,” Junzo suggested, shaking his head in disappointment.

“It’s been two weeks!” Hitoshi cried in frustration. “When are we going to catch a break?”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I honestly don’t know where he is,” Yuya whispered, clutching Kiyoko tighter in her arms. Kiyoko wanted to return the favour, but she couldn’t even look at Yuya at the moment. The sight of her scared Kiyoko: Eichi had beaten her for standing in the way of the door. Her right eye was swollen and purple, and her cheeks were slightly swollen and a violent crimson-red.

“Did they hurt him really badly?” Yuya’s heart almost broke when she heard the sounds of stifled sobs. She didn’t have the courage to tell Kiyoko that he may not even be alive at this point. It had been four hours since they’d taken Sachi away, and Eichi had been so full of rage, not even the fact that Sachi was his brother could have stopped his tirade.

“Yuya, get out of here,” Kiyoko whispered. “I know somewhere where you can go to. You’ll be safe, and they’ll help you.”

“I can’t run away, Kiyoko,” Yuya tried to explain patiently, feeling tears welling up in her own eyes. “I’m scared. Eichi will find me.”

“No they won’t, Yuya. The place I want you to go, you’ll be safe. Trust me. Don’t let them get away with this. You can’t say you love Eichi now. You stayed out of fear, not out of love.”

Yuya nodded, although she was sure that Kiyoko couldn’t see it.

“Where do you want me to go?”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hitoshi sipped his coffee, and bowed his head appreciatively at Mayumi Hisamatsu. She smiled pleasantly and left the three men sitting in the dining room.

“We’ll just have to try again tomorrow,” Junzo said, which was followed by a deep sigh, as if he didn’t believe it would work.

“Tomorrow morning, we’ll have you, Mr Hisamatsu, follow the Kuramoto boy on foot. That way, if we get lost, you can contact us and you’ll still be on his trail.”

“Sounds like a good idea. Less chance of me losing him if he happens to take a shortcut,” Akihito agreed, and sipped his coffee.

“Please let us catch him tomorrow,” Junzo prayed under his breath.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yuya stood in the bathroom which was off the bedroom Eichi and her shared in the hideout. She was wrapped in a towel, and quickly stepped into the steaming shower. As mist filled the bathroom, she tried to relax. Kiyoko was wrong... only slightly. She loved Eichi, but she knew he was a bad person. Kiyoko never deserved this, and she should have realised this before she agreed to keep Eichi’s secret.

If anything, she deserved to go to jail just as much as the others did. She deserved to die for keeping such a secret. Depriving a family of their daughter, classmates of their friend... she’d made a true friend in Sachi, perhaps even more than a friend... and she’d been deprived of that as well.

“Yuya, hurry up in there!” Eichi cried, slamming his fist down on the door and making Yuya jump.

“Fucking hold on!” Yuya screamed. She shook her head and pressed her forehead against the wall of the shower. She never swore, and she never lost her temper. She was really going crazy in this place. No, it wasn’t just a place: it was a hellhole.

“Write this in your diary, bitch!” Heiji screamed as he and Eichi dragged Sachi from the room, bloody and unconscious.

“Don’t be a smartass!” came Eichi’s reply. She wiped a few fugitive tears from her eyes and turned off the shower. She quickly dried herself off and dressed before opening the door.

Eichi glared her way and shoved her out of the bathroom before slamming the door behind him.

Yuya felt like slamming her foot into the door, just to piss him off. To see what he would do. But instead she gathered the things she’d kept at the house, and shoved them into her bag.

“I hope you all rot in jail,” she muttered bitterly as she left the bedroom.

As she passed Heiji in the hall, he winked and gave her a slight tap on her behind. He was disappointed to find that he wasn’t going to be receiving a reaction. He shook his head in disbelief and turned around the corner.

Yuya just smiled as she made her way down the stairs and out the front door.

Please, Kiyoko, hang in there until I come back for you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was 3am when Akihito heard a knock on his front door. His wife stirred beside him, before slowly sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

“What was that, dear?” she asked.

“Someone’s at the door,” Akihito replied, getting out of bed and throwing a robe over his pyjamas.

He heard lights click on in the hallway, signalling that his children were also awake.

“Stay in your rooms,” he ordered as he passed them and made his way to the front door.

He checked the tiny hole in the door before opening it in surprise. “What... what are you doing here?”

Mayumi, who had followed her husband down the stairs, looked at him in surprise. Who were they?

“Hello,” came a tired greeting. “I’ve been looking all over for you.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Diary - Chapter 11

II'm hoping to post one chapter a night. I have assignments and stuff, but I'm multi-tasking and working hard to keep the chapters coming XD By the way, on a random note, I recommend Breaking Benjamin - Dance with the Devil. I listened to this song throughout the writing of this chapter. And overall it's just a great song. Most of their stuff is actually.
Anyway, onto Chapter 11

“They’re all keeping quiet,” Hitoshi mumbled bitterly, throwing the folders down on his desk as he entered his office.

“The girl seemed a little nervous though. You think they’re still involved?” Junzo had followed Hitoshi into the office and taken a seat opposite him.

“Of course,” Hitoshi replied, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Eichi doesn’t attend the victim’s school, he never even knew the girl.”

“How do you know that?” Junzo asked incredulously, reaching over to grab Eichi’s file.

“It’s not updated. He was transferred to another school,” Hitoshi explained. Junzo was about to open his mouth, so Hitoshi quickly added, “I made a phone call to the victim’s school, and they said they hadn’t seen him in a year, that he’d been expelled and moved to another school for one girl’s protection. Seems he took a special interest in her, bullied her and hassled her in a sexual manner.”

“Why would he lie about something like that? It was so obvious that he’d get caught.”

“He was trying to be sneaky,” Hitoshi replied firmly. “I’m sure he was just trying to play us, make us think he had known her well and he was troubled over the mess.”

“So there’s a chance he still could be involved?”

“Absolutely. He attempted to force this girl to go home with him one time. That was when he bashed her for refusing and resisting him. And suddenly, his name comes up in a similar situation, except this time a girl actually goes missing.”

“We need to find out where he’s hiding her, then,” Junzo suggested, standing up. “I have to inform the Superintendent of our developments.” He walked out, leaving Hitoshi to his thoughts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“You mean the police finally have a lead?” Mayumi exclaimed, clapping her hands together and beaming at her husband, who also wore a matching grin on his face.

“I have to tell the children,” he explained, and turned to leave the room. He froze upon seeing two beaming faces peering in at them from the doorway.

“Kiyoko’s going to come home soon?” Namiyo asked hopefully, clasping her hands together tightly. “Were they the same men that surrounded us in the park?”

“I don’t know, Namiyo,” Akihito replied, shaking his head. “But when the police catch them, you’ll be able to tell us.”

Tomoyuki put a comforting arm around his sister’s shoulder. The gesture made Namiyo’s eyes fill with tears.

“I hope they find her soon. I’m sure she’s been through so much.”

Mayumi moved to embrace her daughter and wipe away her tears. “Don’t worry, honey. You’re father and the police are working their hardest to make sure that happens.”

Akihito glanced sombrely over at his family and made a secret promise to live up to their expectations. He didn’t think he was doing enough to help his beloved daughter, but that would all change.

“Excuse me, I’m going to go down to the precinct,” Akihito announced, and bowed his head before disappearing from the room.

“He’s straining himself,” Tomoyuki mumbled under his breath. “He should let the police take care of it. His job is to wait for Kiyoko to come home.”

“Waiting never suited your father,” Mayumi answered, placing kisses on both of her children. “Up to bed, both of you. You have school in the morning.”

Mayumi cast a glance at the front door upon hearing the car start up. She shook her head, but a tiny smile was plastered on her face as she turned off the entryway light and headed up the stairs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Are you sure you want to be there? We don’t think you’d be able to help yourself if you saw the potential state your daughters in...” Junzo warned Akihito.

“I’ll be fine,” Akihito assured both detectives with a determined look. “I want to be there when my daughter is found. It’s what I want above all else.”

“Well then, we’ll all go in the same car,” Hitoshi suggested. “Eichi Kuramoto arrives home at 5pm from school, and leaves at 8am. We will follow him all day, every day, until he does something suspicious.”

“There’s always the smallest of chances he’s not really involved,” Junzo added.

Hitoshi nodded in contemplation and chewed on his pen thoughtfully. “There’s also the possibility – and I’m not trying to upset you Mr Hisamatsu – that he and his party, if there are any others with him, have abandoned her somewhere.”

“We won’t know until we tail him,” Akihito replied. “I will be back tomorrow at 7am. I’m determined to catch this boy in the act.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Write this in your diary, bitch!” Heiji screamed as he and Eichi dragged Sachi from the room, bloody and unconscious.

“Let him go, you animals!” Kiyoko screamed back, throwing herself into the door they had just locked behind them.

“Let me out! You cowards!”

“Shut the fuck up or we’ll come back and finish you off!”

“I don’t care anymore! I don’t care! I DON’T CARE!”

Suddenly, Kiyoko heard Yuya’s small voice. “Kiyoko, stop screaming. I promise, they won’t hurt him.”

Kiyoko slid down the door, tears streaming down her face.

“Yuya, please come in here... please.”

“I can’t.”

And that was the last thing Kiyoko heard before she slipped into unconsciousness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Diary - Chapter 10

Here is Chapter 10. It was hard to write, cause I hate hurting characters... except the ones who deserve it. I feel like I'm getting towards the end, so the chapters may be a little longer and a little more dramatic and emotional. Pleasy enjoy the final (maybe) stretch of The Diary XD

“Maruyama snitched?” Naoya asked incredulously, his eyes widening with panic. Eichi looked at him in disgust and wrinkled his nose as if he was the source of a bad smell. Naoya was such a wimp, he thought to himself as he lit a cigarette and took a deep puff.

“Does it surprise you? I knew I should have tailed her myself,” he said after exhaling.

“What are you going to do? Should we off him?” Heiji questioned, his head cocked to the side curiously. A cunning smile twisted his lips, making him look devilish.

Eichi was tempted to smile at the thought, but displayed a contemplative frown and shook his head instead. “We should, or else he may give away more information. Like where we’ve hidden her. But if we kill him now, they’ll know for sure that we’re all involved.”

“We should just lay the blame on someone else,” Heiji suggested nonchalantly.

“Who else knows, idiot?” Eichi spat impatiently. “We should just lay low for awhile; go about our lives as if we weren’t hiding a girl in the basement.”

Naoya was sitting silently in the corner of the room. Maybe he should end it now. Maybe he could cut a deal with the cops if he gave up their scheme. Maybe he...

“Naoya!” Eichi snapped. “Don’t have a heart attack, man. There’s nothing to worry about. Remember, you don’t actually live here. So you can’t get pinned for this.”

Naoya calmed down enough to consider that fact. This was just a rundown shack he’d done up when he was in high school as a way to avoid his overbearing parents. He took a deep breath and flashed an assuring smile.

“Where’s Sachi and Yuya?” Heiji asked, looking around as if just noticing that two of their party were missing.

“I went to pick up at Yuya earlier, but I saw those two cops parked outside her house. I’ve already told her what’s happening, so she’ll be here when she’s sure that we won’t be followed.”

Heiji looked sceptical. “You sure one of us shouldn’t go get her? I don’t think she’s as sneaky as the rest of us are. She’d be as easy that chick downstairs to pick up, she’s that oblivious to everything around her.”

“Nah,” Eichi replied, taking another drag of his cigarette. “She’s been with me long enough to understand what to do in situations like this.”

“I’ve gotta get going then,” Naoya announced, standing up. “The cops haven’t come to my house yet. It was a stupid idea for me to leave the house. If they show up while I’m gone who knows how suspicious they could get.”

“My guess is they haven’t finished with Yuya yet,” Eichi assured him. “I told her what to say, so we should be fine. Just in case, go over what I told you to say, and for gods sakes stay calm, Naoya.”

Naoya nodded and bid them farewell. The moment he left the room, Eichi stood and snuffed out his cigarette.

“Where are you going?” Heiji asked, standing too.

“I’m going down to visit our friend,” he replied. “Since Yuya’s not here, I want you to prepare her a tray. But wait about twenty minutes before you bring it down, got it?”

Heiji’s lips curled up into his signature twisted smile and winked. “Loud and clear, boss.”

Eichi turned and disappeared through the kitchen, a mischievous smile plastered on his face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiyoko couldn’t see a thing, but when she heard the door open, she lifted herself a little from her position on the floor.

“Yuya?” she asked in a raspy voice. “Did you bring water?”

Eichi closed the door behind him, but didn’t answer. He stepped closer, and noticed Kiyoko’s lips curve into a frown. If anything, she looked confused.

“Sachi, is that you?” Eichi could hear trembling in her voice. He froze for a moment, and continued towards her. He kneeled down and put his hands softly on her shoulders.

“Sachi?”

“Yeah,” he whispered. “Glad to see me?”

Kiyoko hesitated before nodding, and she displayed a small smile. “Did you bring water?”

“I’m sorry. Yuya’s upstairs preparing you a tray now. She should be down soon.”

“Why did they put a blindfold on me?” she asked, reaching up to touch his face. “What are they planning on doing?”

“They just wanted to scare you a little. Did it work?”

At that, Kiyoko’s hands flew from his face. “You sound strange. What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong,” Eichi reassured her, reaching his lips forward to lock with hers. Kiyoko immediately pulled away, hitting her head on the wall. She squealed and held a hand to her head, all the while panting, “You’re not Sachi. Who are you?”

“Of course it’s me,” Eichi tried to explain, bringing his face forward again. Kiyoko sensed his movements and stuck her free hand out to push against his mouth.

“Who are you? Get away from me!”

“Why? You were so willing to kiss me when you thought I was Sachi,” Eichi quipped. “Do you have a thing for my brother? Does he have a thing for you?”

“Get away from me,” she growled menacingly. “Just because I have a blindfold on, doesn’t mean I can’t defend myself.”

“So hostile,” Eichi chastised, and grabbed her shoulders, throwing her head back into the wall. Kiyoko let out an ear piercing scream before sinking down the wall to the floor.

“So weak.”

Kiyoko groaned as she shot her hand up into his nose. He grunted and fell back, holding his nose tightly.

“You almost broke my nose, you bitch!” he yelled as he threw himself on top of her. He began slapping her before sliding his hands down to her throat. He began squeezing gently, and even took pleasure in the way her hands feebly tried to pry his away from her. As he choked her, he leant down to kiss her. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t force him off her.

“Stop hurting me!” she gasped in between kisses. Her voice was growing raspier every time he applied more force to her throat.

“Stop fighting!” he barked in her face. She closed her mouth, but her hands never left his. He took one hand from her throat and swiftly pinned both of hers above her head.

“Have you been writing in your diary, pretty thing?” he asked, leaning down to whisper in her ear.

Kiyoko didn’t reply, which earned another tight squeeze on her throat.

“Yes!” she screamed, nodding emphatically. “But why do you care?”

“Why do you assume there’s a reason?” he asked, trailing kisses along her jaw line, one hand still holding her arms over her head, the other still placed on her throat.

Kiyoko shivered and shook her head. “You wouldn’t have made me do it for nothing. You’re up to something sick and twisted.”

“If you must know, we’ve been taunting your family and the police with them.” Eichi’s eyes dancing with glee as he saw her lips begin to quiver. Her eyebrows were narrowed, and her face was growing white. He took his hand from her throat and slid the blindfold over her head. Her eyes were wide and full of pain.

“You... you sent them to my parents?”

“Feeling embarrassed?” he teased, reaching down again to kiss her.

Suddenly, Kiyoko began to writhe, kick and scream. “You bastard, I’ll kill you!”

As she repeated this over and over, Eichi began to lift her skirt, forcing his hand between her legs.

“Get off me, you animal!” she cried, bucking as viciously as she could.

“I told you to stop fighting!”

“I told you to get the fuck off me!”

Eichi froze. It was the first time she’d shown any sign of pure anger. He thought it would have been fun, and it was to an extent. But it was also annoying. He didn’t like having to go that one step further to quiet her.

Eichi brought his hand back up to her face and rested forcefully over her mouth.

“Have you ever sworn before? Cursed at someone before? Did it feel good?” He took his hand from his mouth and skilfully unbuckled his belt, pulling his pants down.

“STOP IT!”

Eichi froze again, but only because it wasn’t Kiyoko’s voice. She was sobbing violently, tears streaming down her still-paling face. He looked to the door and saw Sachi standing there, feet spread apart, and fists clenched, a look of sincere hatred on his face.

“Get off her, you bastard!”

Eichi laughed and let Kiyoko’s hands go. She pushed him off her and scurried to the corner, pulling down her skirt as she crawled. Eichi buckled his pants and stood to face his brother.

“What, you suddenly have a conscience, boy? You suddenly feel the need to play protector to this whore?”

“Don’t call her that!” Sachi roared.

Eichi laughed and walked towards him, ruffling his hair as he passed. “You interrupted my fun, boy. But don’t worry, I’ll be back later. If you want your fun with her, all you had to do was say so.”

Eichi left the basement, slamming the door behind him. Sachi looked over at a dishevelled Kiyoko. His eyes clearly displayed his feelings, as he looked her up and down: her knotted hair, her bloodshot eyes, pale skin, quivering lips, shaking body, torn clothing, and blood seeping onto the floor. He cautiously approached her and knelt down. Instead of nuzzling into him as she always did, she tried to press herself into the wall as much as she could, desperately trying to avoid touching him.

“Get me out of here or I’ll never forgive you,” she whispered shakily.

Kiyoko could see the hurt look in his eyes. He was there to comfort her, but she was turning him away when she needed him the most. But she wasn’t full of love or trust at that moment. And he had to understand that. She hoped he did, though her eyes showed no betrayal of her deeper feelings.

Under her harsh glare, he seemed to shrink. He nodded, and reached out to pat her shoulder. Kiyoko stiffened, but didn’t shake it off. When he leant his face, she quickly buried her face in her arms.

“I understand, Kiyoko,” he whispered softly. “I’ll try, I promise.”

And with that, Sachi disappeared as quickly as he’d come.

Kiyoko looked up, and new tears began to spill forth. She was embarrassed, angry, distraught, a whole number of emotions. And she felt like she’d lost something. She’d lost her innocence and her childhood, but she didn’t want to lose this one particular feeling. And she was afraid she’d pushed it away when she pushed Sachi out the door.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Diary - Chapter 9

Next chapter for you XD

“Good afternoon,” the pleasant-looking woman greeted, looking down at the two men on her doorstep.

Hitoshi bowed his head in greeting and pulled out his badge, waiting for Junzo to follow suit.

“Good afternoon ma’am, I’m Detective Hitoshi Ikeda, and this is Detective Junzo Ishibashi. We are here to see your eldest son, Eichi Kuramoto.”

“He’s not home at the moment,” she replied cheerily, but a worried look was showing in her eyes. “May I ask what this is regarding?”

“I’m afraid that he has been identified as a suspect in the Hisamatsu abduction. I’m sure you heard the story on the news.”

“You think my Eichi was involved? Impossible,” the woman said, a tone of finality in her voice, as if there was nothing else to say.

“When will he be home?” Junzo asked, ignoring her remark. “It’s important that we discuss this with him. If we can talk to him, we’ll then decide whether or not he’s innocent.”

“He’s at school if you must know,” Mrs Kuramoto explained. “And I don’t want you disturbing him at school. He plays soccer after school, so he’ll be home around 5pm.”

“Thank you ma’am,” Hitoshi replied with a bow. “We really appreciate your time. We’ll be back this afternoon.”

As Mrs Kuramoto bowed her head and closed the door behind her, Hitoshi turned to Junzo.

“Looks like we’re waiting.”

“What?” Junzo took on a look of surprise. “Why are we waiting? Shouldn’t we maybe talk to the other suspects instead of focusing on the one?”

“His mother seems adamant that he’s not involved. Once we leave, there’s a chance he’ll come back and she’ll tip him off. If he’s involved, he might panic and tip off the others.”

“So we need to be here when we catch him,” Junzo finished, and nodded in understanding.

“We’ll park a little ways down the road,” Hitoshi instructed, and they put their badges away and headed to the car.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Ikeda, two boys have arrived at the house,” Junzo remarked, shaking Hitoshi before pointing out the passenger-side window.

Hitoshi roused himself from his light sleep and looked in the direction of Junzo’s finger. Sure enough, two boys were making their way up the pathway to the Kuramoto house.

“Once they’re inside, we’ll go to the door,” Hitoshi explained, and they both got out of the car. The minute the boys entered the house, they ran to the door, and knocked.

This time, the shorter of the two boys answered. He looked like Sachi, Eichi’s younger brother.

“Sachi Kuramoto?” Hitoshi asked.

The boy nodded, and narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “Who are you?”

For the second time that day, the two men pulled out their badges. “I’m Detective Hitoshi Ikeda, and this is Detective Junzo Ishibashi. May we come in? We’d like to speak to your brother, Eichi Kuramoto.”

Sachi’s eyes widened and he hesitated before speaking. “Um, come in. We just got home from school.”

Both men nodded and stepped into the house.

“Eichi, come in here a sec,” Sachi called. He gestured for them to take a seat in the living room and they did so, listening for footsteps.

Suddenly, Eichi appeared in the doorway, and smiled warmly at them. “Good afternoon. To what do I owe this visit?”

Sachi bowed his head and left the room, and Eichi took a seat opposite them.

“I’m Detective Hitoshi Ikeda, and this is Detective Junzo Ishibashi,” Hitoshi explained, sighing. He was really growing tired of introducing himself.

“I’m Eichi Kuramoto, but I’m sure you both already knew that,” Eichi remarked, and sat back, shifting to make himself more comfortable.

“Well, Eichi, we’re here because you’ve been identified as a possible suspect in the Hisamatsu kidnapping,” Junzo began. “So we’d like to ask you some questions, and we expect you to answer them truthfully.”

“It’s important that we find this girl soon, and we don’t want to be fucked around,” Hitoshi added, throwing a piercing gaze at Eichi. The boy merely smiled and shifted again.

“Firstly, I have a question for you. Why do you think I’m involved?”

“That’s for us to know,” Junzo replied firmly. “All you need to know is you’re now a suspect, and we’ll be watching you closely from now on.”

“Where were you on the afternoon of the 24th of July?” Hitoshi asked, pulling a pad and pen out of his pocket.

“I was at school until 5. You can ask my soccer coach. I was at practice that afternoon,” Eichi answered.

“We will,” Hitoshi promised, jotting some notes in his pad. “Have you seen or met Ms Hisamatsu before?”

“Yes I have,” Eichi said, nodding. “I knew her at school; we’re in the same class.”

“We asked her friends to come forward weeks ago,” Junzo explained. “Why didn’t you?”

“We weren’t that close, detective. We’d spoken a couple of times, and I’d been interested in her, but that’s before I hooked up with my current girlfriend, Yuya Nakasawa.”

“We’ll be speaking to her as well,” Hitoshi said as he quickly scribbled her name down.

“Do you know any of these boys?” Junzo asked, pulling three photos out of his pocket and laying them down on the coffee table.

Eichi examined them carefully, before nodding. “I know two of them. That’s Naoya Hagino, and that’s Heiji Asahara.”

“How do you know those boys?”

“Heiji’s my best friend, he goes to my school, and Naoya is a high-school dropout who lives on his own.”

“You don’t know the third man?” Junzo asked sceptically.

“Not at all. I saw him hanging around my school a couple of times, and I’ve seen him selling cigarettes and alcohol to some of the students in my class, but I’ve never spoken to him before. Why?”

Hitoshi knew it wouldn’t be wise to let on that he’d snitched, or else they’d lose the only source of information they had if Eichi was indeed involved.

“He’s a possible suspect as well,” Hitoshi answered, and Junzo threw him a confused look but didn’t say anything. He seemed to figure out what Hitoshi was saying.

“Look, I’m upset that this happened to that poor girl, but I really can’t help you with much. If you’re done with questions, I have some homework I need to do.”

“Yes, we’re done,” Hitoshi announced, and they all stood. Eichi bowed and showed them to the door.

“I hope you catch the bastards who did this,” Eichi remarked as they walked down the pathway to the street.

“He may have been lying,” Junzo whispered as they headed for the car.

“I’m sure of it,” Hitoshi agreed. “He’s a natural-born liar, that kid.”

“Who are we going to visit next?”

“Provided he hasn’t tipped anyone off, we’ll try Heiji Asahara’s house next,” Hitoshi explained.

“Heiji Asahara it is.” Junzo started the car and they drove off, looking at Eichi’s house as they passed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Disobedient LJ Cuts! >:(

I have no idea wtf is up with LJ cut atm :( I've done other posts and it's worked fine, but Chapter 7 of my fic is playing up. I've tried to fix it, but it doesn't seem to want to stay under the cut. I'm sorry to my f-list who have to scroll down lots just to get to the end of it, but I really don't how to fix it. If anyone has any tips on how to fix it, please speak up. I welcome any advice, cause it's annoying to not know what I'm doing! :(

EDIT: Don't worry, my Internet was just being slow and the changes weren't appearing straight away. This post didn't even show for ten minutes. But its all good now.

The Diary - Chapter 8

I'm pretty damn quick, but I'm getting tired. It's unusual for me, coz I don't go to bed till after 12. Can't sleep until the early morning normally, but Its 10pm and I'm already wanting to sleep. Probably want though, but just in case I'll post Chapter 8 now.

When Sachi came to, he was still in the same position he’d been in when he hit the floor. He opened his eyes and blinked rapidly, trying to make the blurry basement become clearer. He groaned and began to sit up before realising he had help.

“I’m so sorry,” Kiyoko said in a tiny voice. “I thought you were that other boy. The one who comes down here to hurt me.”

“It’s okay,” Sachi whispered in a raspy voice.

“I’d offer to give you some water, but no one’s been down here to give me anything in a couple of days.”

“What?” he asked in disbelief. “Yuya hasn’t been down here?”

“No. When that other man came down, he told me Yuya wasn’t going to bring me anything until I learned to behave.”

“What did you do?”

Kiyoko looked away. “He tried to force me to... do stuff to him... he made touch his...” tears filled her eyes and she shook her head, trying to rid herself of the images. He turned around to stroke her cheek. She took a deep breath and finished her sentence.

“When I refused, he grabbed my hand and put it... down there... he told me what to do, but I tried to get away. So when he put my hand down there again, I grabbed it really tight...it brought him to knees, and I took that chance to try and run away again... but he’d locked the door.”

“Still being defiant,” Sachi whispered, smiling. “I’m proud of you. Don’t ever let them see you in a weak state. Always fight back.”

“You should be telling me not to fight back, because they’ll hurt me even more.”

“They’ll hurt you, but they haven’t broken you yet, have they?”

“No,” she replied, and then she leaned into him and placed her head on his shoulder. “But it’s all getting to me. I’m going crazy down here. I need to get out of here soon, or else I’m going to give up hope.”

Sachi took her face in his hands and gently placed his lips on hers. She began to move away, but his persistence paid off, and soon she was leaning in, her lips finally responsive. He pulled away and gazed into her eyes. They were shining with tears, and her lips had curved into a frown. She sat back and wiped the tears from her eyes.

“Thank you,” she whispered. “Thank you for being a friend to me when no one else has. Even Yuya’s turned her back on me.”

“No she hasn’t,” Sachi protested. “It must have just been something Heiji said to try to make you do disgusting things. Don’t ever believe the things he says. It’s all lies.”

Kiyoko nudged her way into his arms and put her head on his shoulder again. “And I’m sorry again for hurting you.”

“It’s okay, you’re forgiven.”

Sachi put his arms around Kiyoko and held her tightly to him. “I’m going to hate letting you go.”

“Then don’t,” she whispered, closing her eyes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heiji knocked on Eichi’s door, waiting impatiently for a response. Finally, he heard a muffled reply and opened the door. He saw Yuya wrapping a blanket around herself before hurrying to the adjoining bathroom. Eichi was buttoning a pair of pants and making his way to one of the seats near the bed.

“What do you want, Heiji?” Eichi asked, pulling a cigarette from a packet and lighting it.

“Just wanted to let you know that Sachi’s adjusting to this pretty well,” Heiji replied, smiling widely and sitting down on an empty seat.

“Oh?” Eichi’s eyes glinted; his interest was piqued.

“Yeah. I was planning on having a little fun with the girl in the basement, but Sachi told me to back off, saying he’d take care of her himself.”

Eichi took a drag of his cigarette and smiled as he laid his head back against the chair. “That’s good. I was afraid he was gonna wimp out on us. We can’t have that happening.”

“So did I,” Heiji agreed, helping himself to a cigarette. “But he seemed pretty mad today. Something’s bugging him. That’s probably why he finally decided to do something. That girl’s good to vent your anger on. She just lays there and takes whatever you give her.”

“Really?” Eichi asked, his interest piqued again. He flicked the lighter for Heiji, and looked in the direction of the bathroom where Yuya had disappeared.

“Maybe I’ll have a go. If Sachi finds her so appealing, maybe I will too.”

From the inside of the bathroom, Yuya had her ear to the door, listening to every word they said. She widened her eyes when Eichi uttered his last words. She slid down the door, and suddenly realised she was crying. She wiped them away quickly and listened to the rest of their conversation.

“Is Sachi done with her?” came Eichi’s voice.

“Yeah, he came up from the basement about fifteen minutes ago. Why, thinking of going down?”

“Hmm, maybe.”

Yuya felt like slamming something against the wall. She took a deep breath, and realised that she wasn’t jealous of what Eichi was saying. She was angry that all he wanted to do was hurt Kiyoko. She was a sweet girl, and Sachi was right: she didn’t deserve what was happening to her.

“Yuya!” Eichi cried out. Yuya froze, afraid he was going to come into the bathroom. His voice sounded very close.

She stood up, wiped her face and opened the door. “What?”

“Good, you’re dressed,” he remarked. “Go get a tray ready and take it down the girl.”

“Her name’s Kiyoko,” Yuya murmured as she brushed past him. Eichi grabbed her arm and spun her around, gripping her shoulders tightly. “What did you say to me?”

“I said her name is Kiyoko. At least give her enough respect to call her by her name. She’s not worthless.”

Eichi pulled her in for a rough kiss, before pushing her away roughly. “Since when did you get a mouth on you? Go and get her a tray, and don’t argue with me again, or you can go and sit down there with her.”

Yuya glared at him before leaving the room. She made her way to the kitchen and began making some tea and filling a jug with water. As she prepared Kiyoko’s lunch, she felt a presence in the room. She was expecting to find Sachi, but two hands sliding around her waist told her it wasn’t him.

“What do you think you’re doing, getting smart with Eichi?” Heiji whispered in her ear.

“I wasn’t being smart. I was just telling him that Kiyoko has a name,” Yuya retorted, pulling away from him and moving to the fridge.

Yuya began to feel uncomfortable with the way that Heiji was staring at her. She finally got fed up and spun around to face him, eyeing him angrily.

“What do you want, Heiji?”

“I was just going to ask whether or not you heard our little conversation upstairs. I’m sure you did. How do you feel about Eichi taking a turn with Kiyoko?”

“I don’t really care. He can do whatever the hell he wants; I just hate seeing her get hurt. She’s been through enough and now she’s being ravaged by you animals.”

“We’re animals?” Heiji repeated, moving forward and pressing Yuya into him. “Do you really mean that, or are you just jealous that you haven’t gotten enough attention since she showed up?”

“Get off me,” Yuya spat, pulling away from again and putting a glass on Kiyoko’s tray. “Stop trying to piss me off, and stay out of my way.”

Heiji tapped her behind swiftly as she passed him, laughing at her mockingly. Suddenly, Yuya turned and hurled the glass from the tray at his head. He ducked behind a counter and watched as it hit the wall, showering shards of glass onto the floor. He stood up and smiled licentiously at her.

“I think you’re jealous. Don’t worry, you’ll learn to share. Eichi’s getting real curious about Kiyoko, you know.”

Yuya grabbed another glass and practically ran from the kitchen. She made her way to the basement, but before she entered, she leant against it, using one hand to wipe the tears from her eyes.

“I’m not jealous,” she muttered. “I despise you idiots. All of you sicken me.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“All these boys have been charged with minor crimes before,” Junzo explained, entering Hitoshi’s office. Hitoshi took the folders from Junzo’s hands and placed them on his desk, spreading them out.

“Write down these addresses, Ishibashi,” Hitoshi commanded. “We’re going to visit each of their homes. Hopefully, they’ll have been stupid enough to hide her in one of their houses.”

“They all look like the type. And considering how Maruyama said that the victim had no connection whatsoever to any of these boys, I’d say they were just planning on having some fun. They wouldn’t have gone into so much detail with the kidnapping.”

“It’s a sick idea of fun,” Hitoshi growled, clenching his fists. “Let’s not tell Mr. Hisamatsu that we’re going anyway. He was good for intimidating that snitch, but I don’t think he’ll be of help when he sees those boys. He’s too emotionally involved in this case; he could cause trouble if he knew of their whereabouts.”

“He’s not that stupid, sir,” Junzo replied. “He just wants his daughter back. He wouldn’t go to such lengths though.”

“Can you be sure?” Hitoshi asked, sitting down and putting his head in his hands. “If my daughter went missing, I’d want the heads of the bastards who did it.”

Junzo said nothing, and instead sat down opposite Hitoshi and began opening the files to record the addresses.

“Where will we start?” Junzo asked as he wrote, not looking at Hitoshi.

“We’ll start with the Eichi Kuramoto boy. He’s been charged with the most crimes, although they’re all minor. He seems like he’d be the mastermind behind the operation.”

“How can you tell?”

Hitoshi looked at the photo of Eichi Kuramoto. He had a sly smile, and his eyes glinted mischievously. “I’m only guessing. But he just looks the part.”

Junzo nodded and finished writing down the last address. “Got them all.”

They both stood, and Junzo quickly collected the files as Hitoshi left the office ahead of the other. He was practically in a rush to get started. They’d finally found a lead, and this time, they weren’t going to let anyone down. They were going to find this girl, and they were going to do it soon. Her family had waited long enough.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Diary Chapter 7

Because I'm so far ahead in the story, I think I'll post another chapter before I go to bed tonight. And also, just a few quick notes before I introduce the next chapter.

Author Notes: I was a bit unsure about a few things for this story, so I had to do a bit of research (just to understand what I was writing). For example, the police system in Japan and how they investigate bigger crimes and stuff. Unfortunately, it still might sound amateur-ish in some parts, but I'm not really claiming to be an expert on the Japanese legal system.

I decided to add these notes in because as the story progresses, I'm going to have to add more scenes featuring the police and their investigation. It may sound weird, but that's cause I'm really no expert and I'm certainly not a professional writer. And, no matter what research I did, I'm still pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff. So please excuse my awkwardness :) Now, on with the story.

“We have a witness who saw you parked outside her house!” Hitoshi yelled impatiently, slamming Kiyoko’s photo down on the desk in the interrogation room. “Now, tell us where you took her!”

“I don’t know!” the man yelled back, pulling out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter. In frustration, Hitoshi grabbed the cigarettes and crushed the packet under his trembling hand.

“Hey!”

“Well answer my questions and stop being a smart-ass!”

“Kyuso Maruyama,” came Junzo’s voice. Both men turn to look at him and the file in his hands. “From the looks of it you’ve been convicted of small-time crimes and done quite a bit of time in prison. Do you really want abduction added to the list?”

“I didn’t kidnap no girl!” Kyuso spat, slamming his hands down on the desk in anger. “I know nothing about this girl, so just let me out of here!”

“There are witnesses that confirm you’ve been watching her, her house, and her family for days! Then she gets kidnapped? A little strange if you ask me,” Hitoshi wondered aloud. “Playing innocent won’t be a good enough technique when I book you.”

“I’ll get a lawyer,” the man threatened.

“No you won’t,” came another voice, and this time three heads turned to see Akihito enter the room, a look of loathing on his face.

“Mr Hisamatsu?” Junzo asked, confused. “What are you doing here?”

“Superintendent Kagawa informed me that you had a suspect in interrogation,” he explained, his eyes boring into Kyuso. Kyuso seemed to shrink under his gaze, and he moved his trembling hands under the desk.

“I’m a very powerful man,” Akihito hissed in a low, menacing voice, throwing his hands down on the desk and thrusting his face towards Kyuso. “And I guarantee you; you’ll find no lawyer willing to represent you in this city. You’ll go to jail for quite some time, unless you tell me where you took my daughter.”

“I didn’t take your daughter!” Kyuso insisted, droplets of sweat forming on his forehead. “But I know who did.”

Kyuso’s audience gasped; none of them were willing to speak, in case he cared to elaborate on the story.

“Who did?” Akihito asked, the menacing tone still evident in his voice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“We need to get her out of here,” Sachi whispered as Yuya continued washing dishes.

“Hush! Keep your voice down!” Yuya hissed under her breath. “Do you want them to know you’re trying to break her out of here? They’ll kill you!”

“I know, it’s stupid and crazy. But she doesn’t deserve to die down there. She’s a good girl. She’s a strong girl. But I don’t know how much more she can take.”

“What happens if they catch you?” Yuya asked, her eyes narrowed. “Eichi will not go easy on you just because you’re his brother. If you do this, you’re worth as much as her in his eyes. And he’d have no hesitation in killing her, you know that Sachi.”

“I don’t care!” he hissed through clenched teeth, stamping his foot for emphasis. “I really don’t care, I’ll...”

“You wanna die for her?” Yuya asked, a sceptical look on her face. “You really want to die for her, even though with your help she’ll still only have the tiniest chance of escape?”

“I just don’t want her to rot down there. They’ve made no plans whatsoever to let her out, and...”

“And what?”

Yuya and Sachi both whirled their heads around to see Eichi leaning in the doorway, staring at them with a smile on his face. “Got something to say, Sachi?”

Sachi’s eyes widened and Yuya felt sorry for him at that moment. He may have been acting tough, but she knew that he was still scared of his older brother. And why shouldn’t he be?

“Uh, I was just... wondering when you were gonna let the girl go...” Sachi mumbled, desperately trying to avoid Eichi’s gaze.

“I dunno,” came a casual answer. “I guess when we feel like it. The cops don’t seem to be making any progress in finding her... they mustn’t be in too much of a rush. I mean, she’s just one girl in a million who have had the same thing happen.”

Sachi’s fists clenched but he said nothing else. Eichi turned his gaze on Yuya, and beckoned her forward.

“We’re going upstairs, Yuya. Now.”

Yuya threw a look Sachi’s way before she made her way to Eichi. He slid his arm possessively around her waist and practically pulled her out of the kitchen.

Sachi was left speechless. Not just from what Eichi said, but the look Yuya had given him before she’d left. The look in her eyes was one of pure hate. She wanted out just as much as Sachi did. She wanted to help Kiyoko, and all her inhibitions had been tossed to the wind.

But Sachi didn’t want Yuya to get in trouble. If they both got caught, they’d both be killed, and Kiyoko would suffer even more without them around to watch over her.

So he was going to do it alone. He was going to get her out of here, somehow.

“Sachi!” Heiji’s voice rang out, snapping him from his thoughts. He gazed at the tall figure standing not far from him.

“What?”

“I’m going down to see Kiyoko,” he said. “Eichi decided it was time for her to write another entry.”

Sachi clenched his fists, but he wasn’t about to let Heiji go down there and hurt her again. “What are you planning on doing to her this time?”

Heiji smiled viciously and unlooped his belt from his pants, cracking it like a whip. “Would you like to join me, Sachi? We could take turns, I don’t mind sharing. In fact I think I’m being quite selfish, keeping her all to myself.”

“You are selfish,” Sachi replied, taking on a look of anger. I think it’s time you backed off, actually. I’m going down there.”

Heiji smiled proudly and moved to let Sachi pass. “Make me proud, boy.”

Sachi scowled as he walked down the stairs toward the basement door. At least Heiji wasn’t going to go down there for now. He’d bought Kiyoko some time, and at that moment he was thankful for Heiji’s naivety.

As Sachi opened the door, he began to call out for Kiyoko, but suddenly a heavy weight collided with his midsection. He let out a huff of air as he was shoved to the side. His side hit the doorframe and he fell awkwardly into the room.

He couldn’t even breathe, let alone try to speak. He had no idea what had hit him, all he knew was that in seconds, he would be dead to the world.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
